Message from James Hardcastle, Switzerland

Nepal continues to suffer and emergency funds are needed, one week after the earthquake.

I am donating to the Patan Hospital, which is functioning but urgently needs equipment and supplies to properly treat the influx of patients.

And I am running the Geneva marathon this Sunday 3rd May. I have never run this far before. I’d like to use this opportunity to raise awareness of the urgent need for support to Nepal. The marathon is sponsored by UNICEF with all their proceeds going to their Nepal relief fund.

As I run 42.2 kilometres around the shores of Lake Geneva, in the wind and rain, and hopefully cross the line on the iconic Pont de Mont Blanc, I hope that some of you could also donate something to efforts in Nepal, if you haven’t already.

The Patan Hospital website is http://www.pahs.edu.np/patan-hospital-earthquake-disaster-relief-fund/patan-hospital-earthquake-disaster-relief-fund/   and their bank account is below, at the bottom of this email, along with links to other organizations, including International Red Cross.

My organization, IUCN, has already donated 20,000 CHF to the Patan Hospital from the Director Generals discretionary fund.
