Prof. Marit Bakke at PAHS
Prof. Marit Bakke, Professor Emeritus from the Department of Information Science and Media Studies, University of Bergen in Norway, visited PAHS from June 12 – 14 and June 22 – 24. She met with the Community Health Science group and they were able to develop the Community Based Learning and Education (CBLE) curriculum for the pre-medical, pre-clinical and clinical phase of the undergraduate medical program or MBBS. The group decided on the type, kind and duration of the community postings along with its terminal objectives for the pre-medical block. The group also finalized the curricular contents and its outcomes for the same block. Extensive discussion on the community health science curriculum and residential community postings in the pre-clinical and clinical phase of the MBBS program was done based on the CBLE document prepared by Dr. Kedar Baral, coordinator of the Community Health Science course at PAHS. The group also integrated its teaching-learning with the proposed weekly Problem Based Learning (PBL) cases during the pre-clinical phase.
